Job summary: The post holder will support the Occupational Health Team in delivering proactive health and well-being initiatives for client organisations. They will assist in managing, providing and developing health and well-being services in line with Team Prevent standards, evidence based Occupational Health practices and legislative requirements. The role of the health trainer whilst on site is to improve the employee experience whilst increasing their awareness of health and well-being. By educating employees on topics surrounding physical, mental and emotional health and well-being. They will work as an integral part of the Occupational Health team and make an important contribution towards development of the service and process improvement. There is regular travel involved in this role and the post holder will be required to drive and be willing to stay overnight when necessary.

 

Specifications of role:

  • Working collaboratively with the Health and Safety and HR teams to develop and deliver a proactive health and well-being plan
  • Targeting initiatives towards the specific challenges faced by client employees and issues identified (Stress/ Exercise/ Back Care/ Alcohol and Diet etc)
  • Developing innovative and effective methods of delivering the health and well-being programme (e.g. on-site posture workshops, stress risk assessment training, monthly webinars)
  • Working with clients and the Marketing and Communications Manager to ensure that the information is delivered in creative formats and effectively disseminated across the organisation
  • Achieving the targets for improvements set out in the health and well-being programme
  • Optimising visibility of the health and well-being function at clients sites and out in the field through the attendance at group meetings
  • Providing on-site health checks (e.g. Blood Pressure/BMI) at agreed intervals and locations
  • Working with clients to increase awareness of and fast track employees to other health support services available (e.g. private health, access to doctor advice, EAP etc)
  • Working with clients to develop Management Toolkits on relevant topics (e.g. Managing Absence/ Undertaking Stress Risk Assessments/Identifying early signs and symptoms and providing training for managers)
  • Agreeing a plan to optimise uptake of the wellbeing Website by increasing awareness and encouraging staff to use the tools on the website to achieve their health improvement goals
  • Ensuring that the methods of communications tie in with the preferences outlined in the survey (e.g. Webinars/ Leaflets/ Atrium Events/ Email/Walkabouts)
  • Providing a health and well-being support service and advice for staff to help improve employee engagement
  • Any other ad-hoc duties as required
  • Assist in the monitoring and maintaining of statistical information for completing clientreports as contract specific
  • Work within the agreed company policies.

 

Knowledge, skills and expertise:

 

  • Educational or demonstrable work experience in either Sports Science, fitness or healthcare
  • Education or awareness surrounding Mental Health
  • Good level of IT proficiency
  • Good working knowledge of health and safety legislation
  • Good oral, written and presentation skills
  • Driving license
