Our PWP’s will receive specific training within occupational health so that combined with their experience they can offer detailed and evidence based assessment of low level mental health conditions such as stress, anxiety and depression and offer advice regarding fitness for work. They will also provide face to face, telephone and video consultations with clients with common mental health problems such as stress, anxiety and depression, at step 2 (guided self-help).


Skills and Experience:

  • To have undertaken the `Post Graduate Certificate in Primary Care` course and be fully qualified as a PWP
  • Able to achieve clinical outcomes and meet agreed performance targets
  • Ability to manage own caseload and time
  • Demonstrate high standards in written and verbal communication including telephone and video consultations
  • Able to develop effective therapeutic relationships with clients
  • In depth knowledge of anxiety and depression and the need for evidence-based interventions
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of the issues surrounding worklessness and mental health
  • Be work focused in your approach and acknowledge work is good for health
  • Ability to use clinical supervision and personal development positively and effectively
  • Ability to be self-reflective of practice and in personal and professional development and in supervision
  • Knowledge of medication commonly used in anxiety, depression and other mental health problems
  • Car driver and/or ability and willingness to travel to locations throughout the organisation
